USSD codes for all banks in Kenya, Safaricom USSD codes

USSD shortcodes provide a simple way to access mobile services from any type of mobile phone even without internet access.. You do not need a smartphone to access Safaricom services using USSD codes. You just have to dial a * followed by the code and end with a #.

Safaricom services you can access with USSD shortcodes include topping up airtime, fuliza loan, checking balances, loan application, MPESA services, Bulk SMS, internet bundles, credit offers, and mobile banking services.

 List of Safaricom USSD Short Codes

Remember, USSD codes start with a * and end with a #. With these codes, you can access services from the comfort of any place without the need to visit an agent or a Safaricom customer care office.

You can also access Safaricom services from a Kabambe (katululu) phone without needing internet or bundles.

Here is a list of useful USSD codes for managing your Safaricom account or accessing other services from a Safaricom line.

1. Airtime, SMS, and General Service USSD Codes

To check airtime credit balance, use *144#

To load airtime from a scratch card, use *141*Scratch Card PIN#

To Sambaza (Transfer) Airtime to another Safaricom number: *100*1*4# or *140*Amount*Mobile Number#. For example if you want to sambaza 50 shillings to 0712345678, you would dial *140*50*0712345678#.

*411# is for getting alerts, classified info, news, sports, and horoscopes.

*555# – Access Blaze Tariff menu. Affordable airtime and internet packages for youth under 26 years of age.

*444# – Access Safaricom’s offers like Data Deals, Dabo Kredo, FLEX, Okoa Calls, and SMS deals.

*130*Mobile Number# – For sending please call me messages. This service is limited to 5 flashbacks per day.

*188# – To subscribe to Safaricom bulk SMS bundles.

*811# – To enrol for Skiza Tunes and set a tune.

*460# – Subscribe or unsubscribe to  STORO Bonus, check your todays target and balance.

*100# for Prepaid and *200# for Postpaid. Access Safaricom’s main menu like Jitambulishe, Mpesa reversal, SIM Card queries, Account, Join Postpay, Balance and data manager, Get PUK, and Products and Services.

*126# or *456*3# – Bonga points (Safaricom’s customer loyalty reward programme) menu. Bonga points are redeemable for talk time, SMS, internet bundles, and phones, shopping, etc.

*232# – SIM registration and updating personal details for registered SIM cards.

*106# – Check SIM registration status, self-registration update, and report unknown numbers.

*485# – Safaricom Business Solutions menu USSD code. Services like internet for business, website & email services, Zidisha Plus, and request for the fixed 4G/LTE internet connection.

*100*5*5*1# – Unsubscribe from marketing messages. Type the name of the marketing service or text number then select Confirm to stop receiving any messages from them.

*100*5*4# – Unsubscribe from promotional text messages you subscribed to.

*456# – Enables you to access the Safaricom Unified menu for all available products. Services you can access using *456# include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Get access to Safaricom deals and promotions: *456*0#
  • Activate Safaricom data manager, Blaze and other services: *456*7#
  • Balances and top up
  • Bonga services
  • Okoa/Sambaza and Please call me
  • Register for Jitambulishe (Voice protect your MPESA services against hacks and malicious transactions)
  • Get PUK to unlock your phone
  • Skiza Tune
  • International Calling Bundles, Activate or Join Postpay
  • Safaricom Home Fibre and Safaricom TV manage subscriptions and pay for services
  • M-Pesa services
  • Safaricom Internet USSD Codes
  • Locate the nearest Safaricom shop or Customer Care desk, and other services: *456*10#

*400# – Safaricom Home Internet menu. Check if your area is covered, subscribe to Safaricom Fibre Home, pay and manage subscriptions.

*544# – Buy internet, SMS bundles with or without expiry, and check bundle balances.

*445# – Request for Safaricom internet settings for new phones or SIM cards. You can also send a blank SMS to 445. Install or save the internet settings once you receive them.

2. Safaricom USSD Codes for Loans

*131# – Okoa Jahazi (advance credit for calls). To qualify, your airtime balance should be below 2 shillings, and your line must have been active for at least 6 months. You can access an advance credit up to Ksh. 1000 at a fee of 10%.

*855# – KPLC Okoa Stima. Register your prepaid tokens KPLC metre and borrow any token amount based on your pre-determined credit limit or transaction history with Kenya Power. This loan comes at a cost of a 10% facility fee, payable within 7 days.

*234*1*1# – Access Mshwari loan menu, request a loan, save, pay a loan, and check loan limit.

3. M-PESA USSD Short Codes

*334# Provides a short and simple way to get M-Pesa services on any phone, especially the non-smartphone type, eg kabambe. *334# gives you access to the following services:

  • Fuliza M-Pesa
  • Send money
  • Withdraw cash from an agent
  • Buy airtime
  • Loans and Savings menu
  • Financial services
  • Lipa na M-Pesa (Buy goods and paybill services)
  • Pochi la biashara
  • M-Pesa Ratiba

  • Manage your M-Pesa account

Take note that you can now access fuliza overdraft service through the USSD code *334#.

*234# – Access to all Safaricom’s M-Pesa business services like M-Pesa PIN manager, Business loans, Business Till, Agent services, Merchant services, Global Pay, M-Biashara, M-Pesa Promos, and M-Pesa products.
