Kenya Women Microfinance Bank (KWFT), formally Kenya Women Finance Trust is a Deposit Taking Business whose mission is to partner with women to enable them to create wealth and enhance their livelihoods.
KWFT Bank has been in existence for over three decades and boasts of a network of branches of over 245 offices spread around the country.
This, according to KWFT, is an effort to reduce inequalities and enhancing financial inclusion by ensuring its services and products are available to all women and their families wherever they are in every part of the nation.
KWFT serves a unique niche in Kenya and Africa as indicated in its slogan “Banking on Women”, being a women-only financial institution.
KWFT has a unique lending model whereby before clients uptake loans, they are taken through an 8-week business training where they learn various skills such as bookkeeping, record keeping and how to save.
Thereafter, the clients hold monthly meetings with the KWFT officers to help them walk the financial journey.
