This article explores TSC allowances per job group enjoyed by teachers in Kenya and how the house allowances differ depending on where the teachers are teaching.
Allowances Paid by TSC to Teachers
All teachers in Kenya employed by the TSC generally enjoy three types of allowances: House allowance, Commuter allowance, and Annual leave allowance.
Other special allowances include hardship allowance (for teachers in TSC-designated hardship areas), baggage allowance (if transferred outside your current county or region), and disability guide allowance.
TSC Annual Leave Allowance
Annual leave allowance is paid to all teachers in service once at the beginning of each year.
Teachers in job groups B5 and C1 receive a leave allowance of Ksh. 4,000, while those in C2 to C5 get 6,000. On the other hand, teachers in D1 to D5, mostly administrators, get paid Ksh. 10,000.
