How to Pay Your StarTimes Subscription Via M-Pesa

Startimes offers various ways to pay for subscriptions in Kenya. You can pay through mobile money services like MPesa, Airtel Money, Equitel and SasaPay, and paybill and USSD features provided by apps of some banks in Kenya.

You can also pay for Startimes directly through their Startimes ON mobile app, available on the Google Play Store.

In this post, I will guide you on paying StarTimes via the Lipa na MPesa paybill number 585858 and through the ON app.

How to Pay StarTimes Via MPesa Paybill

To pay for your StarTimes package through Lipa Na MPesa follow these simple steps:

1. Go to the MPesa  menu on your SIM Toolkit or dial *334#
2. Select Lipa na MPesa
3. Select Pay bill and enter the StarTimes business number 585858
4. Enter your StarTimes Smart Card number as the Account number
5. Key in your package subscription amount you wish to pay
6. Enter your MPesa PIN, confirm, then send
7. You will receive text messages from both MPesa and StarTimes confirming the transaction

Pay for StarTimes Through the ON App

The ON app gives you access to everything StarTimes in one place. You can catch up on your channels subscribed to, pay for statimes, upgrade or downgrade a package.

1. Open the StarTimes ON app and sign in with your mobile number and password.
2. Tap on the ME icon at the bottom right corner of your screen.
3. Next, tap on StarTimes Decorder Service. You will see your account details, including your smart card number, your current bouquet, and the amount to pay. If you wish to change your package, you can scroll down and tap on the Bouquet menu.
4. Select the period you wish to recharge (months or weeks).
5. At the bottom of your screen, tap on the BUY icon to initiate the recharge.
6. Confirm the recharge amount and the phone number to recharge with, and tap on Next.
7. A Lipa Na MPesa popup menu will appear on your screen requesting you to enter your MPesa PIN.
8. Enter your MPesa PIN and send to complete the transaction.
9. You will receive text messages from both MPesa and StarTimes confirming successful payment.
