Send Money from Equitel to Mpesa/ Airtel Money Charges, buy airtime

Safaricom has made it possible for Mpesa subscribers to send money from Airtel Money, Telkom and other mobile operators, using the Mpesa Tuma Popote service.

Safaricom M-PESA customers can send and receive money directly from other mobile money customers registered on Airtel or Telkom mobile networks through the M-Pesa USSD code *334#.

Currently, the only way you can transfer money from M-Pesa to Airtel money is through *334#. You cannot send money to Airtel and other networks through the M-Pesa STK menu.

Airtel and Telkom Kenya USSD codes services

Any M-Pesa customer can transfer funds to an Airtel customer who is registered on Airtel Money or to a  TKash user registered on Telkom Kenya.

Current M-Pesa transfer charges to other mobile operators will apply.

To transfer money from M-Pesa to Airtel Money, follow these steps:

  • Dial *334# from your M-Pesa registered line
  • Next, select Send Money
  • Select Send to other Network
  • Enter the Airtel mobile number (or other network user’s number) you want to transfer money to
  • Enter amount
  • Next, enter your M-Pesa PIN

  • You will receive a confirmation message from M-Pesa for a successful transaction
