KCB Mobile Banking: Register and Activate

KCB mobile banking app and USSD code allow KCB Bank customers, who have registered for the service, to pay utility bills, buy airtime, borrow mobile loans, receive money from Western Union, send and receive money via MPesa, buy or kopa float, and other banking services conveniently from their phone.

To access mobile banking services, you will need to register for the service first and activate it. You should have an active KCB account before proceeding with the activation. Activation can be done via the KCB App or USSD code *522#.

How to Register for KCB Mobile Banking

You can register for mobile banking in two ways:

1. Visiting your nearest KCB Bank branch

This is the fastest way. Visit a KCB Bank branch and request for mobile banking registration. Your details will be captured and you will receive an SMS with details to activate mobile banking services.

2. Self-registration through *522#

You can also dial *522#, select register for mobile banking and fill in your KCB account number and ID number. Within 48 hours a KCB customer experience agent will call you in order to verify your account details.

After successful verification, you will receive a One Time PIN (OTP) which you will be prompted to change to your desired PIN when you log in.

How to Activate KCB Mobile Banking

You can activate mobile banking through the app or USSD code.

To Activate Mobile Banking through the App:

  1. Search and download KCB App from Google Play Store
  2. Open the App and allow it permission to manage calls
  3. Next, enter the phone number registered with the mobile banking service
  4. Enter the mobile banking PIN you setup during the registration
  5. You will receive a security code. allow the App to automatically read the notifications so as to authenticate your mobile number
  6. Congratulations, your app is now successfully activated

To Activate Mobile Banking through USSD Code *522#:

  1. Dial *522# on the same SIM card registered for KCB mobile banking
  2. If you had not changed one time PIN sent to you by KCB, you will be asked to change it
  3. Enter a 4-digit PIN
  4. Re-enter the same PIN as prompted
  5. Validate the request and then submit for activation
  6. In a short while, you will be successfully activated for mobile banking services

How to Change a Forgotten PIN

  1. Dial *522#
  2. Select Reset PIN
  3. Select option 0
  4. Within 48 hours, a representative from KCB Bank will call you to verify your account details
  5. After successful verification, you will receive a One Time PIN (OTP) which you will be required to change within 48 hours
