There are several ways to change, upgrade or downgrade your GoTV package, including online, through the use of a USSD code, and using the myGOtv app.

In this article, I will walk you through the steps of switching your GOtv package using both methods, giving you the flexibility to choose the option that best suits your needs and preferences.

GOtv Africa offers a variety of packages to choose from, including GOtv Lite, GOtv Value, GOtv Plus, GOtv Max, and GOtv Supa, each with their own unique channels and programming options.

Packages and channel names may differ depending on your country of residence.

How to Change Your GOtv Package

GOtv allows you to switch between packages (upgrade or downgrade) in several ways, including through the Online Self-Service portal or by using a USSD code.

How to Switch GOtv Package Online

This method suits all African GoTV viewers.

To upgrade or downgrade your GOtv package online, please follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit the GOtv Africa self-service portal (http://selfservice.gotvafrica.com/en-ke)
  2. Enter the mobile number registered with your GOtv subscription
  3. Enter the 10 digit IUC code (found on the red sticker at the back of the decoder)
  4. Click on Sign In
  5. Once logged in, select Build a package
  6. Next, select the package you wish to upgrade or downgrade to
  7. Click on Next
  8. Click on Pay and select your payment option (for the MPesa option, see How to Pay for GOtv Kenya by MPesa Paybill Number)
  9. It will take about 10 minutes for your package to be switched and activated

How to Switch GOtv Package by USSD Code

Each country has a different USSD code for managing GOtv accounts. Here’s a list of GOtv USSD codes for some countries to help you follow along:

  • Ghana: *759#
  • Nigeria: *288#
  • Uganda *206#
  • Zambia: *668#
  • Malawi *570#
  • Namibia: *142*6688#

Follow these easy steps to switch your GOtv subscription through the USSD method:

  1. From the SIM card registered with GOtv, dial *423# (for Kenya, for instance)
  2. Select the option Change Package
  3. Next, enter the IUC number/ smartcard number (from the red sticker at the back of the decoder), and Send
  4. Select the package you want to upgrade to or downgrade to
  5. Follow through with the process until complete
  6. You will receive an SMS from GOtv confirming a successful change of package

Take note that the steps above may differ a bit for your specific country.

Other ways of changing your Package

You can also download the myGOtv app from the Google Play Store and follow the instructions to upgrade or downgrade your package.

For GOtv fans in Kenay, the other option is calling the GOtv Kenya customer care desk or visiting an office near you. You’ll be assisted in changing your bouquet.

If you plan to visit a GOtv customer care desk near you, remember to carry your decoder or the IUC number with you.
