The CS for education, Prof. George Magoha has announced that the 2022 form 1 selection and intake exercise has come to an end. All the 2021 KCPE candidates have been placed in various categories of secondary schools around the country. You can access the school you are placed in through SMS or by visiting the Ministry of Education placement portal and downloading your admission letter.
According to the CS, 38,797 students have been placed in National schools. 214,960 candidates will join extra-county schools, and 258,456 will join county schools.
A further 726,311 learners will attend sub-county schools, and 2,045 were placed in special needs schools.
The CS also indicated that in line with the government’s 100% transition agenda, all the 2021 KCPE learners have been placed in public secondary schools.
There are 4 categories of public secondary schools in Kenya, namely, the National schools, County schools, extra-county schools, and sub-county schools.
