The institution is run and managed by a management committee majorly comprising of members from the City County of Nairobi and some members from the community.

Waithaka Technical Training Centre was established in 1978 and is mandated to empower youth by providing them with “accessible, appropriate and quality training in technical, vocational, industrial, entrepreneurship and life skills”.
