Kitale National Polytechnic (KNP) is a public TVET and CBET institution established in 1980 by the government of Kenya with the assistance of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA). Since then, Kitale National Polytechnic has grown to the current population of over 4,900 students taking various courses in Artisan, Craft certificate and diploma levels.
KNP is located within Kitale Municipality along Elgon road, 1km from Kitale town.
Diploma courses take three years, craft certificates take 2 years while artisan courses run for a year. The courses are examined by KNEC, NITA, CDACC, and KASNEB.
Generally, diploma courses require a minimum KCSE mean grade of C- (minus). Craft certificates require a D+ (plus) while artisan courses D- and below.
Intakes are done in January, May and September.

Competency Based Education and Training is a training system based on the acquisition of skills relevant to the job market.
These courses are examined by KNP and CDACC.
- Horticulture Nursery Production Level 3 (Basic) (takes 6 months and requires a minimum of KCPE certificate)
