Thika Technical Training Institute is a government-sponsored institution registered under the ministry of education to offer artisan, craft certificate, and diploma courses under the TVET model.
Being a public college, students can either opt to apply through KUCCPS and get government sponsorship or apply directly through the institute’s registrar. The fees charged are very affordable compared to private colleges.
Thika TTI also offers short courses as well as distance online learning, preferred by those whose schedules are tight.
Thika Technical Training Institute is located in Thika Town, General Kago Road, next to the Thika Level 5 Hospital.
Thika TTI Courses Requirements
Diploma courses at the Thika Technical Training Institute require a KCSE mean grade of C- (Minus), with exception of Health and Applied Sciences which require a minimum KCSE grade of C (Plain).
Craft and certificate courses require a D (Plain) in KCSE while for artisan courses you need a D- and below.
In addition, engineering-related courses require you to have passed Physics and Mathematics, (D for certificates and C for diploma).
The courses are examined majorly by KNEC.
