Thika Institute of Business Studies, TIBS, is located in the heart of Thika CBD and offers various courses ranging from state-of-the-art driving classes, certificate, and diploma courses.

TIBS is located between Thika Town & Witeithe Thika Super Highway, Thika. You can find the town campus at the New Jogoo House, 4th Floor, behind Thika Stadium.

Thika Institute of Business Studies courses are examined by major examination bodies including KNEC, CDACC, NITA, ICM UK, and ABMA.

Courses take from 3 months to 2 years to complete, depending on the type of the course.

TIBS General Admission Requirements

  • Copies of National ID Card, KCSE Certificate or Result Slip & Birth Certificate
  • Three Recent coloured Passport Size Photos
  • One ream of Fulscaps & One of Photocopy Papers
  • Recommended uniforms & practical materials where applicable
  • Admission fee of Kshs. 2,000(payable once)
  • Student Course Handbook, exercise book, student ID & college T-Shirt of Kshs. 4,500 (payable once)
  • Activity fee Kshs. 2,000 (payable once)
  • One term fee for the relevant course
  • The hostel fee is Kshs. 5,000 per month (optional)

TIBS Courses Minimum Requirements

KNEC  and CDACC examined Diploma courses require a minimum KCSE mean grade of C- (minus), certificate courses require D plain, while artisan courses require D-.

ABMA diploma courses on the other hand require you to have scored at least a D+ in KCSE. For ICM UK examined diploma courses you need only a D plain in KCSE to pursue your career course.

TIBS Driving College Courses

Driving classes take 3 to 5 weeks per course and are examined by NTSA. Requirements before being enrolled in the driving school include ID, KRA PIN certificate, and two passport size photographs.

Here are the requirements for each driving level:

  • A1 & A2 Motorcycle – 18 years and above
  • A3 Tuktuk Drivers – Valid A2 Driving License
  • B1, & B2 Saloon Car – 18 years and above
  • C1 & C2 Light and Medium Truck – 22 years and above
  • Combined Saloon and Truck – 22 years and above
  • D1 & D2 P.S.V Matatu and Buses – Valid Driving License with 4Years Experience.
