Scoring a D+ or D plain in your KCSE exams may not feel like your best achievement, but it does not define your future. Thankfully, there are a variety of exciting marketable courses available at TVET and technical institutions that you can pursue. These courses require as low as D, D- and E in KCSE to pursue the skills acquired are in high demand in the job market.

 You can start with certificate courses and gradually progress to diplomas and even pursue a degree in your chosen field.

Certificate courses usually take 1 to 2 years to complete.

This article explores a list of marketable courses that just require a D+, D plain, D- or E in KCSE. But first, lets begin by differenting between Artisan and Craft courses:

Artisan Certificate Courses (D- and E)

These courses are ideal for KCPE leavers or students with E or D- grades since they equip them with basic practical skills in specific trades.

Examples of artisan courses include electrical installation, catering & accommodation, masonry, plumbing, carpentry & joinery, and motor vehicle mechanics.
