The Kenya Water Institute, KEWI, is a public institution with the mandate of training, administering exams, and offering research and consultancy services in the water sector in Kenya. Courses offered at Kenya Water Institute range from refresher short courses, bridging courses, certificate, and diploma courses.
KEWI courses range from a duration of 1-year operator courses to 3 years diploma courses. Certificate courses take up to 2 years to complete.
KEWI has 4 campuses;
- Nairobi Campus located along Ole Shapara Avenue, South C, Nairobi
- Chiakariga Campus located in Chiakariga location, Tharaka South District
- Kitui Campus in Kitui town
- Kisumu Campus located at USK in Kibos, 8 kilometers from Kisumu town.
Kenya Water Institute Intake and Admission Requirements
KEWI has its intakes in January, May, and September for Diploma, Certificate and Bridging courses.
For diploma courses, the minimum entry requirement is a C- in KCSE or equivalent. C- or Credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or Physical Science is an added advantage when applying for these courses.
Certificate courses require a D+ in KCSE or equivalent. You have an added advantage if you got, in addition, D+ or Credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or Physical Science.
