Kenyatta University offers a variety of certificate courses at select campuses across the country. These courses typically have enrollment periods in September, with a small number also offering enrollment in January.
The mode of study is mainly Regular-Full Time, with some courses available online and through the DSVOL (Digital School of Virtual and Open Learning).

1. Certificate in Film and Theatre Arts
Offered at the School of Creative & Performing Arts, Film and Media Studies at Ruiru campus on a Regular-Full Time basis.
Minimum requirements include a mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with proven participation in Theatre Arts or Film or Mass Communication. OR Division III in KCE or its equivalent.
Proof of prior participation/experience/involvement in Film or theatre arts will be an added advantage.
Fees payable: East Africans Kshs. 65,000, Non-East Africans Kshs. 81,657, Statutory Fees Kshs. 21,000.

2. Certificate in Digital Animation
Offered at the School of Creative & Performing Arts, Film and Media Studies at Ruiru campus on a Regular-Full Time basis.
Minimum requirements: Mean grade C- in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent.
Fees payable: East Africans Kshs. 65,000, Non-East Africans Kshs. 81,657, Statutory Fees Kshs. 21,000.
3. Certificate in Music
Available at the School of Creative & Performing Arts, Film and Media Studies at the Main campus on a Regular-Full Time basis.
Minimum course requirements: Mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with proven participation in Music.
Fees: East Africans Kshs. 40,000, Statutory Fees Kshs. 21,300.
4. Certificate in Sports Administration and Management
Offered under the DSVOL mode of study at Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Garissa, Kisumu, and Embu campuses, at the School of Applied Human Sciences.
Minimum requirements: Mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at O Level.
OR should hold P1/SI teachers Certificate course or Kenyatta University certificate in Sports Administration and Management.
Fees for this course: East Africans Ksh. 34,400, Non East Afr. Ksh. 43,000, Statutory Fees Ksh. 32,900.
5. Certificate in Project Management
A school of business regular full-time course offered at the Main, City, Mombasa, Nakuru, and Embu campuses.
Requires a mean grade of KCSE C- (Minus) or its equivalent OR KCE Division III or its equivalent.
Fees: East Africans Ksh. 40,000, Statutory Fees Ksh. 21,300.
6. Certificate in Project Monitoring & Evaluation
A regular full-time course at the school of business and is offered at Main, City, Mombasa, Nakuru, and Embu campuses.
Minimum requirements: Mean grade of KCSE C- (Minus) or its equivalent OR KCE Division III or its equivalent.
Fees payable: East Africans Ksh. 40,000, Statutory Fees Ksh. 21,300.
7. Certificate in Chinese language and Culture
Offered in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences on a Full time/Part time mode.
The course is offered at the KU Main campus and the City campus.
Minimum requirements: Mean grade C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent OR proficiency in Chinese Language and Culture certificate.
Fees: East Africans Ksh. 40,000, Statutory Fees Ksh. 21,300.
