M-Fanisi loan is a mobile money product from Maisha Microfinance bank available to both MPesa and Airtel Money subscribers in Kenya. You can register and apply for M-Fanisi loan through the M-Fanisi app or by dialing *222# or Airtel Money line or *281# M-Fanisi USSD for MPesa users.
M-Fanisi loans are available for 7 to 30 days and interest rates range between 4 and 10 % respectively, exclusive of excise duty.
You can borrow as little as Ksh. 100 and grow your limit to over Ksh. 25,000 provided you meet M-Fanisi loan minimum requirements.
How to Register and Activate
MPesa Users
- Dial *281# from MPesa enabled line
- Agree to terms and conditions by selecting Register
- Enter your National ID number
- Enter your name as it appears on your ID card
- Confirm your details and select Confirm
- You will receive a notification after a while from M-Fansi about the status.
MPesa users may be required to set M-Fanisi PIN either through the M-Fanisi mobile app or USSD *281# after account activation.

Airtel Money Users
- Dial*222# and select Loans and Savings
- Select M-Fanisi
- Accept the terms and conditions
- Enter your ID Number and complete the registration with your Airtel Money PIN
- Wait for a response from M-Fanisi.
How to Apply for M-Fanisi Loan
For Airtel Money users:
- Dial USSD *222# and select Loans and Savings
- Select the option M-Fanisi
- Enter Amount
- Enter your Airtel Money PIN
- You will receive the loan amount directly in your Airtel Money account.
For MPesa users, follow these simple steps:
- Dial *281# or use the M-Fanisi mobile app
- Select Loans
- Select Request loan
- Enter the amount and select a period
- Complete by entering your M-Fanisi PIN.
How to Pay M-Fanisi Loan
You can repay M-Fanisi loan from your M-Fanisi account or MPesa or Airtel Money account using *222# for Airtel Money transactions or *281# for MPesa.
M-Fanisi is so silent on their Lipa na MPesa paybill number. Somewhere on their Facebook page, it is given as 499555.
