St John Ambulance training Kenya courses offered

St John Ambulance School of First Aid and Safety (SOFAS) offers training courses in disaster preparedness, para-medicine, firefighting and first aid. The school continues to equip the public with first aid and emergency medical skills using modern technology to enable them to be well-prepared for emergencies.

St John Ambulance employs the latest International guidelines to teach people using easy-to-follow steps and empowering them to prevent and manage life-threatening emergencies.

The school offers weekend and evening classes every third week of the month.

In-house and tailored classes are also available upon request. Short courses like the Care Giver course, are also available from time to time.

When you enroll for any of the courses at St John Ambulance, you will be issued with a free First Aid book and international certificate.

Courses Offered by St John Ambulance Kenya

The college offers the following courses:

  1. Emergency Medical Technicians Course (EMT)
  2. Life Support Courses
  3. First Aid Training
  4. First Aid Advice
  5. Occupational Safety and Health Courses
  6. Fire and Disaster Preparedness

Intakes for these courses are normally in March, June and September, except for short courses.

Emergency Medical Technician Course (EMT)

Both certificate and diploma in Emergency Medical Technicians Course are available.

The certificate course takes 2 years and requires a C- (minus) at KCSE with a C- in Biology and English/ Kiswahili. The fee for a certificate course is Ksh. 110,000 per academic year (payable in installments).

The diploma in EMT on the other hand takes 3 years and requires a KCSE mean grade of C plain, with the same grade in both Biology and English/ Kiswahili.

The diploma costs Ksh.130,000 per academic year (payable in installments).

Life Support Courses (Basic Life Support – BLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support – ACLS)

These courses are meant for health professionals and can be taken one at at a time or both ate the same time as you wish. Training centres are located in Mombasa, Nairobi, Nakuru, Embu and Kisumu.

First Aid Training

First Aid courses can be taken online from anywhere you are. the courses include occupational First Aid (at the workplace), Emergency First Aid and Refresher Training, and Pediatric First Aid (for babies and toddlers).

First Aid Advice

This course empowers you to know how to handle the situation at accident scenes. When you complete a practical first aid course, you will gain skills to be able to assist in fatal road accidents.

Everyone is encouraged to learn the basics of first aid. These simple skills will help save lives when seconds matter and can be learned in just a few hours.

The First Aid class can be taken online.
