Safaricom’s overdraft facility, Fuliza, has become very useful especially when you want to pay for goods using Lipa na M-Pesa and you find out that you lack enough money in your M-Pesa account to complete the transaction. Now, Safaricom has made it also possible to buy airtime on credit using Fuliza.
The good news is that you don’t have to go through third-party service providers to fuliza airtime credit from MPesa.
You can simply use the buy airtime option available from the M-Pesa menu and follow the instructions on your mobile phone screen.

If you cannot locate the Safaricom STK menu on your phone, Safaricom has you covered. You can also access fuliza by dialing *334#.
Safaricom will ask you to fuliza the balance if you don’t have enough money in your MPesa. But first, before buying Safaricom credit using Fuliza, you need to have activated Fuliza service on your Safaricom line.
Also, note that you can only fuliza within your Fuliza limit set by Safaricom. You can check your Fuliza limit and the outstanding amount by dialing *234#.
Fuliza offers zero interest for first-time users if they borrow and repay within 3 days.
How to Buy Safaricom Airtime from Fuliza
There are two ways you can fuliza airtime to your own number or another person’s Safaricom number.You can buy airtime from Fuliza by either using the M-Pesa menu or by dialing *334#.
Fuliza Airtime from M-Pesa Menu
- Open the STK menu on your phone
- Select M-PESA
- Next, select Buy Airtime
- Select My phone, to buy airtime for yourself
- Enter the airtime amount you want to buy
- Enter your M-Pesa PIN
- Confirm by clicking OK
- If the amount in your M-Pesa account is not enough to buy the credit, Fuliza message will pop up indicating the top-up balance you can fuliza, and the access fee charged.
- Select Accept, and Send
- You will receive the airtime and messages confirming the transactions.
Buy Fuliza Credit Through USSD
- Dial *334# from your M-Pesa registered line
- Select the option Buy Airtime
- Next, select My phone
- Enter the Amount
- Enter your M-Pesa PIN
- Confirm the credit amount and Accept
- If you have insufficient funds in your M-Pesa, you will be asked to fuliza the remaining balance
- Select Accept to complete the transaction.
- You will get the Fulizacredit in your phone and a message from Safaricom confirming your airtime balance.
