Kisii Polytechnic Courses, Requirements and Fee Structure

The Kisii National Polytechnic (KNP) is a public technical and vocational education and training institution that offers courses at the artisan, certificate, diploma, and higher diploma levels. The Polytechnic is equipped with modern technology and resources that allow students to develop market-relevant skills in a range of fields, including engineering, hospitality, information technology, health sciences, agriculture, and fashion design.

Courses at the Kisii National Polytechnic are accredited by TVETA CDACC, KNEC, NITA and KASNEB examination bodies. The institution’s intakes are normally done in January, May and September.

KNP is located 1 kilometer from Kisii town CBD along the Kisii-Keroka road.

Kisii National Polytechnic Minimum Admission Requirements

Diploma courses require a minimum KCSE mean grade of C-(Minus) while craft certificate courses require a minimum of D (Plain). Artisan courses require D – and below.

How to Apply for Courses

To apply for courses at KNP, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Get application forms

Get application forms from the admissions office at the Kisii National Polytechnic or from their website www.kisiipoly.ac.ke

Step 2: Supply and fill out required documents

Dully fill out application forms and attach copies of the KCSE certificate, KCPE certificate, birth certificate, school leaving certificate, National ID card, transcripts/ result slips, and other relevant certificates.

Step 3: Pay application fees

Application fees of Ksh. 500 for Government-sponsored students (KUCCPS), and Ksh. 2,000 for Self-sponsored students should be deposited in the college’s account: Account No: 01120017051900 Cooperative Bank – Kisii Branch.

Step 4: Submit documents

Submit the duly filled forms together with the attached documents and bank slip to the Kisii National Polytechnic Registry.

KNP also offers Refresher (single units) courses under TVETA CDACC programs. Part-Time programs are examined by: CISCO, TVETA CDACC, NITA, NASCOP, KASNEB, and Computer Packages.

Kisii National Polytechnic Fee Structure

The fee structure for both Government-sponsored and private students has been adjusted by the Ministry of Education. The current tuition fee for all diploma, certificate and artisan courses is Ksh. 67,189 per year.

IT Essentials and CCNA (42 days) fee is Ksh. 7,500. Refresher courses (part-time programs) fee is Ksh. 9,000 per unit.

Take note that KNP may change the fees at their own pleasure without notice (though government institutions’ fees are well regulated). The fees may apply only for continuing students and may not include other requirements for fresh joining students.
