Kenya Industrial Training Institute, KITI is a Government Department under the Ministry of Industrialization and Enterprise Development mandated to offer hands-on technical training and entrepreneurship skills for self-employment. KITI courses are intended for artisans, craftsmen, technicians, engineering graduates, engineers, and entrepreneurs who are prepared to work in the existing industries and for self-employment.
The Kenya Industrial Training Institute campus is located in Nakuru along Solai road.
The college has eight departments offering various technical courses and the programmes are examined by major examination bodies such as KNEC, AA, and NITA.

KITI Leatherwork and Tannery Department Courses
This department offers artisan, craft, and short-term courses. Short-term courses are examined by the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT), (Grade Test III to Grade test I) while Artisan and Craft Certificate courses are examined by the Kenya National Examination council.
Artisan certificate courses take one year while Craft certificate courses take two years to complete.
Graduates from this department can be absorbed in fields like tanneries, footwear, industries, and leather products firms, jua kali sectors, youth polytechnics, and rehabilitation centres.
