TSC Advertises for July 2021 Primary and Secondary School Vacancies

TSC has advertised for teaching vacancies in primary and secondary schools for July 2021. 4,000 teachers will be recruited in secondary schools in order to fulfill the president’s directive on 100% transition of students from primary to secondary schools.

Some 1,000 posts are also up for grabs in primary schools.

The Commission also advertised 2,987 posts for primary schools and 927 posts for secondary schools, to replace teachers who left the teaching service due to natural attrition.

The teachers recruited will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.

Take note that the deadline for applications to the above posts is 12th July 2021, and must be fully submitted on the TSC website, teachersonline.tsc.go.ke.

TSC General Information on Teachers Recruitment 2021

You are required to take note of the following before submitting your applications for the advertised posts:

i) The Teachers Service Commission Recruitment Guidelines 2021/2022 FY shall apply to the recruitment process;

ii) Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted;

iii) Shortlisted candidates will be required to present original academic and professional certificates;

iv) Successful candidates must not fill more than one Application for Employment Forms. Filling of two or more Application for Employment Forms will lead to disqualification;

v) Manually filled applications will not be considered;

vi) Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously been employed by the Teachers Service Commission.

Recruitment of Secondary School Teachers (4927 POSTS) General Requirements

To qualify for recruitment for TSC teaching vacancies, a candidate should meet the following basic requirements:

i) Be a Kenyan citizen;

ii) Must be a holder of at least a diploma in education;

iii) Must be a registered teacher with Teachers Service Commission.

Basic Requirements for Promotion and Deployment of Practicing Teachers in Public Primary Schools (1,000 Posts)

To qualify for promotion and deployment to secondary school, a candidate should meet the following basic requirements:

i) Be a Kenyan citizen;

ii) Be a holder of a PI Certificate;

iii) Be a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with 2 teaching subjects;

iv) Must have attained at least C+ (Plus) mean grade at Kenya Certificate of Secondary

Education (KCSE) or its equivalent and C+ (Plus) in the two teaching subjects or its equivalent;

iv) Must be serving under Teachers Service Commission;

Applicants MUST ensure that certified copies of the degree certificate and academic transcripts are filed at the Commission through the TSC County Director within one (1) month from the date of this advert.

Successful candidates under this category shall be appointed at T-Scale 7, Grade C2 under the Career Progression Guidelines for Teachers and shall be deployed to secondary schools where vacancies exist.

Basic Requirements for Recruitment of Primary School Teachers (1000 Posts)

These posts are in addition to 2,987 posts of teachers who exited the teaching profession through natural attrition.

To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should meet the following basic requirements:

i) Be a Kenyan citizen;

ii) Must be a holder of a PI certificate;

iii) Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.

Successful candidates will be posted to serve in any part of the country and not necessarily in the county where they were recruited.

Mode of Application for the TSC Teaching Vacancies

Interested and qualified candidates are supposed to submit their applications online through the Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under ‘Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than 12th July 2021.
