KASNEB Student Portal: How to Register Account and Login

The KASNEB student portal is an all-in-one online portal where students pursuing various KASNEB courses can access all the services in one place. Before you can login and access KASNEB services, you have to signup and register an account first on the ekasneb student portal.

You can signup for your ekasneb online account by following very simple steps. You need to have a working email address that you will use to activate your online account.

You can register for KASNEB courses at accredited centres and colleges around the country. Services you can access on the KASNEB Student portal include:

    • Register for exams
    • Examinations booking
    • Pay for Exams
    • Apply for exemptions
    • Apply for deferment
    • View exam results
    • Access payment receipts and transaction reports

How to Signup on KASNEB Student Portal

Existing students who already have an account can login to the KASNEB portal using the link: https://online.kasneb.or.ke.

For new students, follow these simple steps to register and activate your ekasneb online account:

STEP 1: Access the Online Portal

STEP 2: Fill in Basic Details

Enter your full name as it appears on your National ID, Birth Certificate or Passport, and click Next Step:

Enter your Phone Number and Email Address and click Next Step:

Enter email address and phone

Enter your National ID Number, Birth Certificate Number, or Passport Number and then click Sign Up.

A popup message will appear asking you to confirm account signup. Click Yes, Proceed!

You will receive an automatic email from KASNEB with your initial login details.

STEP 3: Activate Account

  • To activate your KASNEB student portal account, open the email you received while signing up.
  • Use the e-kasneb link provided to access the portal and login.
  • Enter the login details provided in the email and click Login.
  • You will be asked to enter a new password that you will be using to login to your student account. Enter a New password and repeat the password in the Confirm New Password textbox.
  • Click Change Password.
  • Your student online account is now activated.

STEP 4: Login to the Portal with Your New Password

You can now login using your email and new password.

Once you login, you will be asked whether you have a KASNEB examination registration number. Selecting yes will prompt you to select the exam and enter the Registration Number.

Selecting No will take you back to the dashboard where you can register for exams.

Before you register for exams, you need to have the following documents at hand in soft copies:

  1. Passport size coloured photograph in .jpg format.
  2. Identity Card (ID) or Birth certificate or Passport document in pdf format.
  3. Academic certificates in pdf format.

To register for courses on the KASNEB student portal, click on the tab for the course and then click Register Examination.

Next, fill in the required information and upload the documents according to the outlined specifications.

Continue through with the registration process, and wait for approval from KASNEB.

Frequently Asked Questions about e-kasneb Student Portal

1. Is it possible to obtain my registration Number via SMS?

Yes, you will receive an SMS notification with your Registration number once the KASNEB team has approved your payment.

2. Can I get a refund for the payment made?

Yes, you can call JamboPay Call center on 0709920000 and request for a refund. You will receive your reimbursement following approval from KASNEB.

3. How do I renew my subscription?

  • Go to the e-kasneb student portal and click on the Renewal icon on the sidebar
  • Thereafter proceed to make payment for renewal
  • After successful payment, your renewal status will be updated to: Up to Date.

4. How can I make a KASNEB Wallet Top-up?

  • Go to Mpesa/Airtel Paybill Options
  • Enter Business no. 832222
  • Enter your Phone number as the account number
  • Enter the Amount
  • Enter your M-PESA PIN and Send
  • You will receive a confirmation via SMS

5. What happens if I forget my Account Password?

  • If you happen to forget your password:
  • Select the forgot password icon
  • A password reset link will be sent to your email
  • Click on the link and follow the steps to reset your password.

6. How long does KASNEB take to verify the registration details after course registration?

It takes a maximum of 24 hours to have your details verified. You will receive an SMS notification with the verification details.

7. What happens if I don’t receive an SMS during account Sign up when using the Mobile Application?

During account signup, an email notification is also sent with your account details. You can proceed to activate your account using the account activation link sent to your email.

8. What happens if my registration for the Examination is rejected due to a mismatch of names on supporting documents and Identification Documents?

If your registration is rejected due lack of supporting documents, you will have a second chance to reattach proper supporting documents when you log in.

After reattaching the supporting documents, your documents will be approved by a KASNEB administrator.
