The CS for education, Prof. George Magoha has announced that the 2021 form 1 selection and intake exercise has come to an end. All the 2020 KCPE candidates have been placed in various categories of secondary schools around the country. The 2021 form 1 students will report to their placed schools on 2nd August 2021, after downloading the required admission letters.

According to the CS, 36,254 students have been placed in National schools. 201,067 candidates will join extra-county schools, and 213,591 will join county schools. A further 718,516 learners will attend sub-county schools.

The CS also indicated that in line with the government’s 100% transition agenda, all the 2020 KCPE learners have been placed in public secondary schools.

Towards the end of class 8, the KCPE candidates in Kenya normally get a chance to apply for placement in secondary schools of their choice.

There are 4 categories of public secondary schools in Kenya, namely, the National schools, County schools, extra-county schools, and sub-county schools.

To check the school a student has been selected into, you will have to visit the respective Ministry of Education portal.

You can also see the form 1 selection results by sending the candidate’s full index number to 22263 on any mobile network. Each SMS costs sh. 25.

How to View Form 1 Selection Results Online and Download Admission Letters 2021

The Ministry of Education form 1 selection results portal has been grouped into 4 categories for quick and direct access to the information you seek.

Follow any of the following categories that concerns you in order to successfully view form 1 intake results and download the admission letter.

View Form 1 Selection Results for National Schools

Visit the Form One Selection 2020 for NATIONAL SCHOOLS link

You will see a box like this;

  1. Select the county and sub-county the candidate sat KCPE
  2. Enter the full KCPE index number
  3. Click on Submit.
  4. Next, click on the link named “admission letter” at the bottom of the page for a copy of your admission letter.
  5. Use the printer icon to print or the download icon to download to your computer.
  6. Get your primary school’s headteacher to endorse the letter and stamp it in the space provided.
  7. Finally, present it for admission together with a certified copy of your birth certificate.

The form 1 selection results and admission letters for the extra county schools have now been availed by the Ministry of Education on their portal.

You will then follow the following steps to view and download your admission letter:

  1. Select the county and sub-county you sat your KCPE in
  2. Enter your full index number
  3. Click on Submit.

You can now download County Schools’ admission letters on the Ministry of Education portal.
