The CS for education, Prof. George Magoha has announced that the 2021 form 1 selection and intake exercise has come to an end. All the 2020 KCPE candidates have been placed in various categories of secondary schools around the country. The 2021 form 1 students will report to their placed schools on 2nd August 2021, after downloading the required admission letters.
According to the CS, 36,254 students have been placed in National schools. 201,067 candidates will join extra-county schools, and 213,591 will join county schools. A further 718,516 learners will attend sub-county schools.
The CS also indicated that in line with the government’s 100% transition agenda, all the 2020 KCPE learners have been placed in public secondary schools.
Towards the end of class 8, the KCPE candidates in Kenya normally get a chance to apply for placement in secondary schools of their choice.
There are 4 categories of public secondary schools in Kenya, namely, the National schools, County schools, extra-county schools, and sub-county schools.
